Spaghetti bolognese is a true everyday favorite. It’s comforting, filling, and loved by kids and adults alike. Here is a simple, family-friendly version, perfect for busy weekdays.

Ingredients

  • 1onion
  • 1carrot
  • 2celery sticks
  • 1tbspoil, for cooking
  • 400gground beef
  • 1candiced tomatoes
  • 2tbsptomato paste
  • 2clovesgarlic
  • 2 1/2dlbeef stock
  • 1bay leaf
  • 1tspsalt
  • 1/2tsppepper
  • 1/2red wine
  • Spaghetti, (~56 g per person)
  • Parmesan, for topping

Directions

1.

Finely dice the onion, carrot, celery, and garlic.

Heat a deep pan over medium-high heat with oil. Add the onion, carrot, and celery, and cook until soft.

Push the vegetables to the sides of the pan. Add the ground beef in the middle and season with salt and pepper. Brown well.

Make a small well in the center and add tomato paste and garlic. Cook for 2 minutes, then stir everything together.

Add beef stock, diced tomatoes, red wine, and bay leaf. Mix well and let simmer with the lid on for at least 30 minutes and preferably longer if you have time.

Cook the pasta according to package instructions and drain.

7.

Remove the bay leaf and mix the pasta into the sauce, or serve the sauce on top.

8.

Top with freshly grated parmesan and serve warm.
